A little late this week, but I'll do this week and next now......
Today is our annual Terry Fox run - thank you for the donations that you have sent in to the cause. Tomorrow (depending on the weather) is our first evacuation drill. Students will return home at usual times, but K-2 students will be picked up by the buses at the Anglican Church in Grand Harbour. 3-12 students will walk back to school and have their last class before the buses come back to pick them up.
We have done the following sounds this week (not naming the letters, as we will concentrate on learning the names of the letters after the sounds are all learned - after Christmas): e (as in egg), , h, r, and m.
Tomorrow is the first of October, and here is what's happening in that month here at school: I'm in the process of setting up a visit to the fire station for next week as it is Fire Prevention Week. I'm also setting up a visit to the Nursing Home in costume for the 29th for Halloween. Further information will follow. Also in October - no school for students on October 7 and 8, as these are teacher meeting days. Thanksgiving holiday is on October 11th this year.
As well, we will be starting to send home tricky word bags in October, each week adding two new words to read, reread, and learn to reccognize.
