WEEK 31

A four day week coming up, with teachers going to meetings on the mainland on Friday, May 1st.  Another 4 day week next week, with Monday being the teachers annual union meeting day.

This week we will talk about letters Qq and Rr.  Words for the Word Wall are has, were, other, and because.

The Calithumpians, a group from Fredericton, will be putting on a show for the students on Tuesday afternoon.   We were unable to have Theatre New Brunswick Young Company earlier this year due to an injury one of the actors had happen to them, so this presentation is in place of that one.  They publicize their program as an "enviro-drama".

This week is Country/Western week - we encourage students to get in the mood by the following activities:  Monday - bandana day
                  Tuesday - Plaid  Day
Wednesday - Denim Day  there will also be a dance from 6-6:45 for K-2 students
                  Thursday - Cowboy-cowgirl day

WEEK 30

Time is winding down, and here we are past the halfway mark in April already!  Another full week coming up.  Today is dress rehearsal for the Music Festival, which happens Wednesday night and Thursday morning in the Great Hall. Your child will bring a schedule home with him/her this afternoon!  We will be watching the Elementary Drama club put on their play, WELCOME TO GRAND MANAN, tomorrow morning at 9, which is also their dress rehearsal before they go to Drama Festival at Fundy High on Wednesday morning.

The next few weeks we will be doing two alphabet letters each week, and this week we will be talking about Oo and Pp.  Words for the Word Wall this week are play, more, of and before.

WEEK 29

First off, my apologies for not posting last week - just kept getting put off, I guess!

Last week there were a few things that came home that I should mention before getting on to the coming week:

  - The Jump Rope for Heart packet is fairly self explanatory.
  - The Reading contest from the library is also self explanatory.  Any questions can be answered by   the library staff, 662-7099

  - as always, the word box bags, homework, and reading bags come home .  Thank you for helping your child complete these tasks. They all help in achieving the goals of the Kindergarten curriculum.

For this week, we will talk about the letter Nn.  Words for the Word Wall are this, any, many, and had.
