WEEK 30
We have a short week this week, with Friday off for students, as teachers will have meetings.
Our letter this week is "Nn". Words for the word wall are any, many, and had.
Keep up the great work in reading! Many students now have received books for reading 25, 50, 75, 100, and MORE books! This reading helps students improve their skills and build a love for reading.
Tuesday morning we (K-5 students and staff) will have the pleasure of watching the Elementary Drama perform their production, "Cinderella". The public performance is Monday night, April 15th, at 6:30pm. The troupe will travel on Wednesday to perform in the Drama Festival in Saint John. Good luck to them all! And a big thank you to Mrs. Jones and Ms. Toole for their direction and time spent with our students.

We were very excited to have a surprise visit from an OCTOPUS today. Luke's dad caught it in a lobster trap and saved it to share with us. It's parents doing things like this that make my job so neat - and it opens up another window of learning! Thanks, Keith and Alex, for bringing the octopus in to show us!

WEEK 29
A full week this week -
This week we are talking about words that start with "M". Our new word wall words are who, which, and with.
I've been giving books to many readers lately, as the students reach the 25, 50, 75, 100, and beyond, goals. Reading Club continues, and the children are becoming more confident and using lots of strategies when tackling a book. Some students have read over 100 books, and I'm very pleased with that, as the more they read, the more skills they acquire, and they have a bigger interest in reading. Keep up the great work, guys!

WEEK 28
We've had another wonderful Theatre New Brunswick (TNB) Young Company production this morning - this year it was "The Velveteen Rabbit". It is a treat for all of us, young and "old" alike.
This week we are talking about the letter "Ll". New words for our word wall are why, where, and look.
It looks like it's going to be a good week, but still pretty cool, so please remember to send proper outdoor clothes for your child.

WEEK 27
Well, there WAS one more snow day - hopefully that will be the last, and we will see some real signs of Spring soon!
This week is a short one, as report cards come home today, and then we will hold Parent-Teacher Interviews on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00pm, and Thursday morning, from 9:00-11:00am. I hope to see you there.
This week we are talking about the letter Kk, and our words for the week are what, when, and okay. As well, we will have Show and Tell tomorrow morning, after recess.
I will be away Tuesday for appointments, and Mrs. Andrea Morse will be in for me.
